Awkward Season 2 - Release Date and Promo Video

Yay, Awkward will be back on the 28th June....I am so excited. I saw the trailer and it looks like Jenna really hasn't made a choice and this series she will have both guys fighting over her. Well....I for one cannot wait.

P.s. Does Sadie look thinner, hmmmm.

Bring on SEASON 2

Peep Season 2 Trailer Below:

Dear me: Blog changes and Life Update.

I thought I should write a little bit about what’s going on in my life right now. Well, the last time I was a bit down with the whole rejection thing but I have moved on and now. After a week I got an interview (Informal) to do a 8week placement at a big recruitment agency and I still remember the day I went and I was scared because I thought they would say no to me and I would get rejected again.

I didn't get rejected and the following week I started my placement. It is in an office doing admin work and I am so surprised that I have not done any office work experience. It was me and another girl and we started at the same time and everyone seemed nice and friendly and I picked up the admin very well and it was 6 hours a day. 5 weeks and to my surprise I like it better like that than working long hours, working nights and all these weird hours.

I am starting my 5th week and hopefully, I will start to do some phone calls. I am excited for that and I hope it goes well. After the placement I might get a job at the recruitment agency or I might sign-up with them and do some work there....It has defiantly opened up some doors for me.

Will I go back university?? I don't know....I think if there was a course I was passionate about I might go back but right now I just haven't found it.

I do have little side projects I want to start doing...

1. Learn HTML & CSS.
It's a starting point but I really want to self-teach myself about computer languages and in the end use this website to showcase my work by designing it and playing around.

2. Write Short stories
I have always wanted to write a book but I can never reach 10 pages so I am going to set myself some goals to reach and go in baby steps to write short stories and publish them on here for free.

3. Build this site
I have been slacking this site and I feel bad....I want to grow the site hence the name change from livingnotexsiting to Brooke’s bench. I also want to try doing a bit about beauty and fashion and other stuff I can think about. I am so excited.

And joining twitter

Before I Go To Sleep by S.J.Watson - Book Review

RATE:★★★★
Pages:372
Author:S.J. Watson
Published: January 2012
I have just finished reading this book. I am in awe at how great this book is.

It's called before I go to Sleep and the basic concept about the book is of a woman called Christine and every time she goes to sleep she forgets everything that has happened that day and when she wakes up she thinks she is a child sometimes but in reality she's in her 50's. In this book she is slowly remembering her past in pieces and she is also being told something’s of her past and in a twisted way something’s are true and others might not be so true.

Every day she wakes up to man she does not remember but he tells her that he is her husband......

Pro's - I have never read anything like this. It's different and for me original and very well written. At the end of the book I felt like I understood Christine as a character and as a person. Like I was Christine.

The thing about this book was whatever you think will happen....it won't and it will make you love and hate certain characters at the same time. Then there is a twist that I never saw or even imagined to happen...but when it was revealed I was like "Oh my Gosh."

The idea was brilliant and the way it was sectioned off (will make sense to anyone who has read it) was perfect and the build-up to the ending was quite good.

Con's- I have read a few thrillers and they are fast paced from murders and kidnappings etc.....Where there are shocks and twists in every corner but this book has a slower pace...

Honestly, when I started reading the book...I was like is this it but I still wanted to carry on and read it....chapter after chapter until the massive twist and a brilliant ending. But for others it could be a slow book but I quite enjoyed the build-up.

Would I recommend it? Yes/ No ...........I think this is a Hate it or Love it kind of book and I love it.

Chris Brown- Don't wake me up Official Music Video Review

When I heard this song on the radio I automatically fell in love it. It's a dance track but it's different and I don't know what I am talking about....But it's just one of those good dance tracks.

The video has just come out and it's thoughtout and somewhat interesting....It does go with the theme of the song....He wakes up or sleeps three times and each time he follows the same girl into a room and they end up somewhere but their both dreaming....It's a mind-f. But it's interesting with some cool dance moves thrown in there as well.

Drop Dead Diva - Season 4 Premiere (Spoilers)

It is back with another season, Season three left with Jane leaving on a plane and Grayson chasing after her after Stacey telling him Jane is Debb. Parker runs of after for his son......Fred also leaves as Jane tells him about seeing her kissing Grayson.
Spoilers

The new season starts off with Jane and the judge in (somewhere) and Stacey says that she meant their alike. This time Grayson loves Jane as he waits for her at the airport with flowers until he sees the judge with Jane. It is a flip but I can tell you this if Grayson was to show a little emotion towards Jane she would leave the judge and then what. The show would be done with. It was more believable when Jane was the one who loved Grayson whilst he was with some else.

Now Grayson is putting the pieces together that Debb is now Jane....The way their doing it seems really lazy...Like with the dates they both had the accident is the same and then Jane flat lining for a minute or something....First off all if he has a brain, he wouldn't believe something like that could happen. Even though it did....They could have made it more exiting. That's all.

Then we have Fred leaving, I have gotten to like Fred and the way he left was kind-off like...meh. Hopefully, he will come back with a bang....I don't know if I like this new guardian angel but will see. I just wish he and Jane had, had more time to say goodbye.

The case in this episode was a shock because from what I can remember Jane hasn't lost a case in a while, she always in some clever way of winning it....But the clients played her, HARD. Good to see the mum from "Grounded for life."
Also there is a known guest who is Kim Kadashian and her acting was believable.....I don't hate her...Times are hard and if she can make money getting naked and playing with the media then good for her. Will see how she does in the show.

I am glad it is back and I am interested to see what they will do with the storyline because they left it with a cliff hanger and the premier hasn't fulfilled the hype but it's still good and I can't wait for more episodes.

The Vampire Diaries: Awakening by L.J. Smith book review

RATE:★★
Pages:253
Author:L.J Smith
Published: April 1991
I am a huge fan of the vampire diaries the show....I would say right now it is one of the best shows on TV, for me anyways. So with season ending and being impatient to wait until the next season begins I thought I might as well read the books. So I went out and bought the awakening.

Pro's - I will give the author props for the ideas of the story and I thought when the author went back in time with Damon, Stephan and Katharina...I quite liked that. The book was easy to read.

Con's- I originally watched the show before reading the book and in most cases the book is ten times better than the TV show or film but unfortunately in this case the TV show is miles better.

Let's start with the characters....Firstly, I hate Elena in the book....She's the girl you hate....She's this popular, snobby, full of herself girl who wants and gets everything....I remember when I first started reading the book and I thought back to the Elena in the show....that I could relate to and to this one that had me rolling my eyes.....Stepan was annoying, I don't know why but he just seemed all over the place....I just didn't like him. I probably liked Katharina the most, because she was what Elena should have been.....I felt sorry for Matt.

Then there was the romance between Elena and Stephan.....that was sooo rushed and forced....Elena only likes him because his the new hot thing....then Stepan trys to avoid her and then they kiss and suddenly there in love and can't live without each other....It was so quick and there was no suspense and anything....Even when she found out about him being a vampire....it was like meh.....Rushed again. I think the author focused more on things that didn't matter than the romance...

The book was slow paced, it dragged on with things that didn't really matter.....The author had good idea's but I don't think she knew how to put it on paper....There was no emotional connection with the characters, even Damon lost his spark in the book. The wording is written for children hence it's easy to read but there is no interest or yearning to carry on. Maybe that's why the TV producers changed so much.

Would I recommend this? No, I wish I had listened to the reviews that said it wasn't as good as the show...But I didn't think it would be this bad....It's shocking how bad it is....However, I think young children or teenagers would enjoy this book...Save your money is what I would say.

Underrated Music; Tank- Next Breath

I am going to start a collect of songs that I think are amazing but are deeply underrated....

Firstly, Let's start with Tank - Next Breath.....I heard this song on the radio one day and I automatically fell in love with song.....This is real Rnb music...Absolutely Amazing.

Have a listen below:

Brian McKnight Shades Chris brown, Mayweather and R kelly

Any Rnb fan will have heard of Brian McKnight. He was there around the times of R kelly and Ginuwine. In the Rnb world he was known for making beautiful, soulful love songs.....Ahh good times.

But now at the age of 43 years old he is trying to make a come-back....Me personally, I love when legendary Rnb artists come back onto the scene but not the way Brian is doing it.

A few months ago I heard about the video by Brian Mcknight called " How your P***** works" The name first of all is a mess....Like really Brian. Anyways, I only watched 3/4 of the video as it was too much of a mess and I couldn't believe what I was seeing....A joke or not....he shouldn't have done that....He lost a lot of respect from me on that one. I can't...

Now, He went on a twitter rant about Chris brown, R kelly and mayweather.....Firstly, I believe it's jealousy maybe because all these guys are doing well in the field they work in but him who does stupid songs now expects to have the same success maybe the money is running low I don't know but the irony of it all is that he, Yes, Brian McKnight was Charged with Domestic violent towards his wife....So in effect their all bad as each other but again who is he too judge....God is the only one who can judge....

Nether less, he is 43 years old and this is what he does to get his 2seconds of fame back....very disappointing Brian very disappointing....Why not write a good song instead of ranting silly stuff on twitter....I thought people would mature with age but I guess something went wrong with him....

Well, Chris brown responded....honestly, at first I was like chris not AGAIN.....But this was justified....Brian is A FOOL. (sorry if a offended any brian fans)

Red Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells - Book Review

RATE:★★★★
Pages:325
Author:Jaye Wells
Published: April 2009

Honestly, I picked up the Silver-tongued evil book first of all....I was in a rush and I wanted something to read. Not knowing this was the fourth book of the series...So then I looked at some reviews and it looked good so I went and bought the first book and I am glad I have done because it's been a long since I have read a book that drew me in so much that I couldn't put it down.

In a world where being of mixed-blood is a major liability, Sabina doesn’t really fit in. And being an assassin – the only profession fit for an outcast – doesn’t help matters. But she’s never brought her work home. Until now.

Her latest mission is uncomfortably complex, and threatens the fragile peace between the vampire and mage races. As Sabina scrambles to figure out which side she’s on, she uncovers a tangled political web, some nasty facts about her family and some unexpected new talents. Any of these things could be worryingly life-changing, but together, they could be fatal …

This time, it’s personal.

Pro's- Personally, I love fantasy sort- off books....It had vampires, magicians, demon, fairies.....that sort of stuff...But if you are like oh my gosh, another vampire book then you will be mistaken....This book apart from vampires is nothing like twilight....It's more mature and raw....I love it. Without saying to much the story is about a half vampire/ half mage and she goes through a lot to find true friends and to really learn who she can trust and who she can't. Obviously, being a half vampire her grandmother made her feel like a second class citizen and in turn she could only become an assassin and then she is put into a mission which in turn changes her life forever and she meets a lot different people and finally, discovers the truth.

The book was well-written and the pace was fast....I never wanted to skip pages because it was repetitive or going to slowly, which was good....The author had a lot of shocks and there still a lot mystery and hidden secrets that I assume is left to encourage us to read the other books of the series. What I love a lot about the book is there is so much going on it's amazing.

There is also a little romance....and what I love about it is isn't rushed like they met and the next 5 pages their saying they love each other...blah blah blah....The author left you in suspense like will it happen...will it not...And honestly I am surprised at what happened.....It was a surprise from the norm.

Con's- Honestly, I thought the author could work more on the characters....Even the main character I had a picture in my head but I couldn't relate or fully picture the character....not saying it was really bad but in other books I feel a real emotional connection with the characters...even if their bad or their good. But in contrast I did love the idea with the cat/demon....but even though he was a good character I still believe this character could have been absolutely amazing if there was more of a connection....I don't know. But that's it.

Would I recommend it? Yes, if you enjoy fantasy, vampire books....It's definitely a collection Item. No, if you don't enjoy reading fantasy books...

Warning Strong language.
