Adele singer speaks about her figure, weight

I love Adele's music and after watching the graham norton show were she was a guest, I liked her personality as well. She seems like a funny, down to earth kind of person, which is very rare in the music biz.

Here is a bit from Adele's interview in Q magazine:

Someone Like You singer Adele also spoke about how she has come to terms with her figure, and has no intention of slimming down by dieting or hitting the gym.

She said: 'I never fell under that spell. I'm a size 16, normal.

'But I wouldn't encourage anyone to be unhealthy overweight just as much as I wouldn't encourage a f***ing Ralph Lauren model to suck ice when she feels like fainting.

'I'm just encouraging people to stop bullying each other. I've got a lot of things on my to-do list and that's right at the bottom. When I can squeeze in time, I don't want to go down the f***ing gym, I want to go to the pub with my mates.

'I can't be bothered. It's not even lazy, it's just other things thrill me in life.'

I luv this because she's living her life and her weight isn't a problem because most of the women who are not seen as being slim have all lost weight and made a lot of money from it, some using weight-watchers, surgery and just exercising and diets...It's a shock to see a women like Adele who hasn't gone on a diet and lost all the weight...

But imagine if she lost the weight. If you go on her video "rolling in the deep," there are a lot of comments about her weight but I think it's part of her package, who she is and I think she would lose her spark if she lost the weight, but if she loses it to make her feel better or health reasons then thats fine.

An example, for what I am talking about is jennifer hudson, she lost 80Ib and to me I might be wrong but she lost that extra part of her that made her special. That made us love her in Dream girls, wow, when she sang And I am telling you, I almost cried. But now she's boring and she is no different to Beyonce, Ciara, Rihanna, Keri hilson...

Also the funny thing is she's lost all this weight and her album is not doing as well as her first, even with all this promo but then you have Adele who probably wears the same dress size that Jennifer used to have before the weight loss and she is breaking records and she is touching people's hearts with her voice, music and talent. However, if Jennifer wasn't happy with her body and it made her misery then it's good she lost the weight and she is happy now that she has lost the weight. But it would be sad if she was put under pressure to lose the weight by the media or she lost the weight for more publicity because she was on weight-watcher ads on tv, she was on every fitness, diet, healthy eating, tabloid magazine talking about her weight and that's a lot of money to gain from losing weight.

Which goes on with what Adele also said in Q magazine:

One of the most refreshing qualities about Adele is that, unlike many of today's music stars, she has never succumbed to the commercial side of the industry.

And the London-born star insists she will never lend her name to a product.

She explained: 'I think it's shameful when you sell out.

'It depends on what kind of artist you wanna be but I don't want my name anywhere near another brand.

'I don't wanna be tainted or haunted - I don't wanna sell out in any way.'

'I don't come from money and I'm not fussed by money.

'I like nice things now I've got it but I'd still be alive and healthy and a good person if I didn't have money now.

'But if I was money-driven, I'd be very excited about the money coming in.

'I'd be the face of full-fat Coke. Get another million in the bank.'
