Beyonce- 4 Album Review

RATE: ★★★★★
Songs: 13
Artist: Beyonce Knowles

So after seeing her Glastonbury performance and I liked some of her news songs so I thought I would go and buy her album “4.” So here is the review.

1) 1+1 – This song is a beautiful love song and I like it.

2) I care- I really like this song, it grows on you.

3) I miss you- Another good song, I really like her voice and the different ranges it goes into and the beat as well. Good song

4) Best thing I never had- One of my favourites because if you have ever had a crash and that person shut you down, you can so relate to this song because it was truly the best thing I never had. Also her voice sounds amazing and it’s a good to sing along to.

5)Party- This is probably my favourite or one of my favourite songs on this album, I love the slow jam/ 90’s Rnb kind of feel to it that it has…I have had this on reply for some time and it never gets old.

6) Rather die young- This is probably the worst song in the album for me, but that’s just me.

7) Start over- I like this song, I can relate to it and the lyrics and the messages on this is so strong like her voice on this song. Good song.

8) Love On top- This is also one of my favourite songs and I love it because it will make you dance, it’s such an upbeat, groovy, soulful song.

9) Countdown- Not really feeling this song, it’s upbeat but I don’t really like it. It has a bit of a reggae feel to it.

10) End of time- Probably the best dance track in this album in my opinion, love this song.

11) I was here- Best balled in this album hands down, it is really emotional but a good song as well.

12) Run this world (Girls)- Honestly this should not have been her first single because there are so many better songs in this album but it’s not a bad song, sometimes I find myself dancing to it.

All in all I would have to say it is an amazing album and to follow up I am Sasha fierce is very hard because that was an all-round great album but I really like the route that BeyoncĂ© took with this album because it’s not a pop/dance/techno album it’s more about ballads, Rnb and soul album. Also her voice and the lyrics are amazing and it’s a solid album that I feel I will still be listening to in ten years’ time, she really took a risk because the music now is about dance music and auto tune, which I think is horrible but people still buy it. It’s like she went back ten/ twenty years’ time and made a heartfelt/ meaningful and beautiful album, which is very rare.

Would I recommend it?? Yes, I would recommend it but if you are looking for dance/techno songs then this album is not for you…but otherwise GET IT.

Chris Brown- F.A.M.E - Review

RATE: ★★★★
Songs: 18
Artist: Chris Brown

I wasn't really quite sure if I wanted to spend my money on this album but I liked deuces and yeah 3x so I thought let me go into HMV and see how many songs are there. If there were 9 songs, I wasn't going to buy the album. So I find it at the front of the store and there 18 songs and the cover looks really good. So I buy the album and I am glad I did.

1. Deuces - Brown, Chris & Tyga/Kevin McCall- I luv this song, no matter how many times I hear it, but I think it is a song that was well written and many people can relate to it.

2. Up 2 You - Brown, Chris- One of my favourite songs in this album, makes your heart melt...It's an Rnb slow jam. The beat, Chris's voice. Amazing.

3. No BS - Brown, Chris & Kevin McCall- This was also on two of his mixtapes and it was one of my favourites. Bedroom slow jam, really hot and it just flows perfectly.

4. Look At Me Now - Brown, Chris & Lil' Wayne/Busta Rhymes- This is the official second single from the album and it's hip hop based but I like the way it is different anything out now. BUT what makes this song is Busta Rhyme's verse. He just kills it.

5. She Ain't You - Brown, Chris - The first time I heard this I remembered the Michael Jackson beat from human nature and I was like no Chris you can't be MJ...like R kelly tried singing you are not alone and it didn't sound good to me but Chris did it completly different and turned it into a completly new song...and I actually started liking it after a second listen and now it's one of my favourites.

6. Say It With Me - Brown, Chris- One of the upbeat and fun songs that just makes you want to dance, I love this song.

7. Yeah 3x - Brown, Chris- First single from this album. This is a fun and catchy pop song that will just have you dancing or jumping, lol.

8. Next To You - Brown, Chris & Justin Bieber- Justin bieber, to be honest I had to turn up the volume and listen clearly to even listen to his voice, very quiet compared to chris brown's voice. The beat and song was very good.

9. All Back - Brown, Chris - A beautiful balled. - Love his voice in this.

10. Wet The Bed - Brown, Chris & Ludacris- One of my favourites, love Ludacris's voice at the beginning and this is also another bedroom rnb slow jam. Amazing.

11. Oh My Love - Brown, Chris- This is another favourite, fast, upbeat....song that will get you shaking your head...The beat is good and at the first listen you will just love it.

12. Should've Kissed You - Brown, Chris- Best song of the album, Slow beautiful song about how he should have kissed that girl...Absolutly stunning.

13. Beautiful People - Brown, Chris & Benny Benassi- I heard this before I got the album and I wasn't really sold on it but now I love it.

14. Bomb - Brown, Chris & Wiz Khalifa- Black and yellow, black and yellow, lol. A solid hip hop song...chris sings though, but the beat is good.

15. Love Them Girls - Brown, Chris & Game- One of the weaker songs of the album.

16. Paper Scissors Rock - Brown, Chris & Timbaland/Big Sean- What can I say, with timbaland on the beats and chris's voice...Instant banger.

17. Beg For It - Brown, Chris- Another bedroom slow jam not as strong as the others but still a good listen.

18. Champion - Brown, Chris & Chipmunk- Peaked to second place on the uk charts and with chris's strong vocals...A good addition for the uk listeners...

All in all I haven't bought an album that was so solid and had a variety of music that was pop, rnb, hip hop, techno...whatever all in one and it was done at a standard that was good. I was really surprised at how good this was but I can't stop listening to it.

I would definetly suggest you get this album, you won't be dissapointed.

Jessie J- Who you are album review

RATE: ★★★
Songs: 13
Artist: Jessie J

I remember seeing Jessie J singing do it like a dude a couple of months back and I didn’t like the song at all but after the video started being shown on the television and I gave the song another chance I fell in love with the song and then I heard price tag and I loved that song as well. I also saw a live session on MTV were she performed some songs and then I was like I am going to buy this album.

1) Price tag- Was the second single of the album and Jessie J’s first UK number 1. A decent song, when I first heard it I fell in love with it and let’s say it was on repeat for so long that it started getting annoying. But a good song still.

2) Nobody’s perfect- One of my favourite songs of the album, her voice is amazing. A must listen.

3) Abracadabra- This is an alright song, probably one of the worst in the album…..

4) Big white room- Amazing vocals, it is actually a live recording and it sounds amazing, nice slow song.

5) Casualty of love- One of my favourite songs, it has an RnB feel to it, which I really love. Just amazing.

6) Rainbow- Upbeat song, Jessie J is actually rapping in this, which is alright but it a decent song.

7) Who’s laughing now- The first verse is abit lame but the rest of the song is good. I love how she sings about how people used to put her down but after she becomes famous they start sucking-up to her….

8) Do it like a dude- Amazing song, first single of the album, if you haven’t listened to this were have you been, lol.

9) Mama knows best- I listened to her singing this on Youtube but her voice is good. Decent song at best because of her vocals.

10) L.O.V.E- Another one of my favourites…about love and I really love when they slow it down….and the bridge. Nice RnB song.

11) Stand-up- This has a positive message and it a song you listen to and move your head to.

12) I need this- I was very shocked to hear this song on here, it was on Chris brown’s Graffiti album. Having listened to both versions I still think that Chris brown’s version is better because his voice had more emotion and strength than Jessie’s but a good song still.

13) Who are you- This is amazing- I have to say this is by far the best song in the album. Her voice is mind-blowing in this song. The song is heartfelt and has an amazing message about being who you are no matter what other people say. Just be who you are.

Money well Spent??

In an album with only 13 songs and around 9 songs range from good to amazing, this is great since most artists now a days tend to only have 2 good songs excluding the singles that are decent. I feel like I spend my money wisely and hopefully there will be more albums like this from Jessie J.

Side-note: It was great to see her do different things in this album from live sessions and when she spoke as well.
